"I believe each house has a soul, an essence that one connects with. I have a passion for decorating and designing which began when I was a child. I would drive my parents …
“When the scary decision was made to leap in and start my home staging business, my internal attitude about life changed. I’ve always had a tremendous sense of gratification when I completed a home for myself, but the feeling I got when I completed my first ‘staging consultation’ for a stranger was THROUGH THE ROOF!”
“Every decision I make now has a focus, and that focus is building my business. It may take awhile before Ivy Home Staging can support me and I can retire from my current job, but at least I now have a tangible goal! I have so much enthusiasm for my future; I feel that life has only just begun! Thank you, Debra, for all of the wise advice from the Staging Diva Program and for posting inspirational stories from other stagers.”

3 Reasons Home Staging Might Be Your “Dream Business”
1. You can choose when (and how much) you work.
Home staging is a good choice if you’re looking for a career that you can easily juggle around your family or a full-time job. Since you decide what client appointments you will book and when, you can choose whether you want to do home staging on evenings and weekends, or only during normal business hours (like when your kids are at school). Appointment scheduling is entirely under your control!
2. Home staging is one of the least expensive businesses you can choose.
You can work from your own home office and you don’t need to invest in furniture inventory or purchase in any fancy equipment (a digital camera is about all you need!). You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on expensive print advertising because it doesn’t work for a small staging business anyway!
There’s very little in the way of overhead expenses with a staging business and in fact you get to write-off many of the expenses you currently have against your business income. Of course you should seek the advice of an accountant to learn the proper ways of minimizing your taxes.
3. Home staging provides high earning potential.
If you price your home staging services properly, you have the potential to earn a six-figure salary. Because home sellers know they stand to make a significant profit from staging their homes, they will spend hundreds of dollars on your services..
It’s up to you to ensure you’re not undervaluing your time and the talent you have to bring to the table.
Many Staging Diva Graduates, who follow the pricing strategy outlined in Course 2 of the Staging Diva Program, report making more in a single week than could earn in an entire month working full-time in their previous career.
Home stagers make more money than real estate agents and they don’t have to be on call 24/7 the way a REALTOR® does.
