"I believe each house has a soul, an essence that one connects with. I have a passion for decorating and designing which began when I was a child. I would drive my parents …
“I am finally taking the plunge into a home staging career and stage homes as my full-time job. I took the Staging Diva Home Staging Business Training Program in 2007 but was too afraid to leave my full-time job.”
“After a health scare, I have reevaluated what is important in my life, and I have come to the conclusion that using my natural talents is where my mission in life should be. Thanks for all your inspiration.”

Thinking of a home staging career?
It’s amazing how a crisis will let us open ourselves up to seeing new possibilities for our lives. For Karyn, a health scare let her stop procrastinating and give herself permission to finally step into her home staging career. Staging Diva can help you start a home staging business too!
Career changes are quite common these days—it’s rare for people to stay in the same career throughout their lives. People are also living longer than previous generations, and as they reach retirement age, they realize they still have many years ahead to be productive and enjoy the work they love.
Before getting into home staging, many Staging Diva Graduates worked in totally unrelated fields. At some point along the way, they decided to reinvent themselves, and you can too!
For example, Pauline was completely miserable in her career in criminal law, so much so that she was literally getting sick on her way to work every morning. Pauline is now a home stager, and she’s eager to start work every day.
In her early 50s, a layoff saw Donna Dazzo out of a 25+ year career in the financial services field. Rather than taking that time to find another job in the same industry, she started her own successful home staging business, Designed to Appeal. (Read more about Donna’s success as a home stager here.)
After working for 36 years as a hair dresser, 62-year-old Carol made the decision to make a career change and start her own home staging business.
Mother of 4, Holly Battaglia, has found much success and creative fulfillment as a home stager while still working part-time as registered nurse.
Fran Matsumoto, co-owner of Pristine Staging in Beverly Hills, held jobs as an airline employee and also as the office manager to Rodney Dangerfield and his wife Joan before reinventing her life as a home stager!
Gary Baugher left a secure management position he’d held for 15 years at a car rental company to start his Nashville home staging company, An Eye 4 Change.
Ken Sater in California started his home staging business, Creative Home Visions, after working for 18 years in mortgage banking and 14 years in the insurance industry. (Read more about these home staging men here.)
Sophia Mose-van Woensel “escaped” her job in London where she worked as a lawyer, to the countryside of France to work as a home stager.
Sophia says, “All the time, people are questioning my choices and telling me that I’ll regret it, but you can’t listen to that. You have to give it a try, otherwise you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.”
