"I believe each house has a soul, an essence that one connects with. I have a passion for decorating and designing which began when I was a child. I would drive my parents …
“Debra, you make it so simple to start a home staging business without having to put a lot of money into upfront costs!”
“I staged the last 2 homes we owned, and they sold in 2 and 3 weeks. Can’t wait to be able to help others sell their homes and help homeowners fluff up their current homes.”
~ Karen Dvorak, Home Staging by Dvorak (Texas)
3 Reasons a Home Staging Business Is Ideal
1. A home staging business is one of the lowest cost businesses you can choose.
When you have a home staging business, you can work from your own home office and you don’t need to buy your own furniture inventory or buy any fancy equipment (a digital camera is about all you need!). You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on expensive print advertising because it doesn’t work for a small staging business anyway!
There’s very little in the way of overhead expenses with a home staging business and in fact you get to write-off many of the expenses you currently have against your business income. Of course you should seek the advice of an accountant to learn the proper ways of minimizing your taxes.
2. You’re in charge of when (and how much) you work.
If you’re looking for a career that you can easily juggle around your family or a full-time job, a home staging business is a good choice. Since you decide what client appointments you will book and when, you can choose whether you want to do home staging on evenings and weekends, or only during normal business hours (like when your kids are at school). Appointment scheduling is entirely under your control!
3. Home staging offers high earning potential.
As a home stager you have the potential to earn a six-figure salary if you price your services properly. Because home sellers make a significant profit on the investment they make the services of a home stager, they will spend hundreds of dollars on your home staging services.
It’s up to you to ensure you’re not undervaluing your time and the talent you have to bring to the table.
Many Staging Diva Graduates who follow the pricing strategy outlined in Course 2 of the Staging Diva Program report making more in a single week in their home staging business than they earned in an entire month working full-time in their previous career.
Did you know?
Home stagers make more money than real estate agents and they don’t have to be on call 24/7 the way a REALTOR® does.
